My trip to himalayas
The deep rejuvenation and peace of travelling alone can only be achieved when you live in an ashram setting ... Last week I travelled to himalayas and stayed in a ashram very close to river Ganges it was a joy to see the river with its full splendour from my room .the ashram was well decorated with beautiful garden and its colourful flowers.. I was the only guest there except for a Panditji's family who are incharge of the ashram. I spent most of the time reading books listening to the music chatting with panditjis family doing meditation for sometime thanks to Heartfulness Chennai where I learnt some meditation techniques recently. From here, I went to other places including the Ashram of Chinmayananda i talked with Swamiji there and met a mataji who was fasting at that time. I sat with her for sometime in silence. Most of the ashram doors are open to everyone. In some ashrams they teach advaita vedanta. In some other ashrams bhajans and kirtans were chanted. Food was amazing simple delicious yummy North Indian food cooked by panditjis wife. The brilliant colours of 🐦 birds visiting the river was awe inspiring.
